This work depicts ripples through the water in a mangrove forest and symbolises a state of reflection and meditation in nature. The mangrove forests sit between the land and the ocean, existing between two great forces and acting as a refuge and home for a plethora of life. The artist seeks to convey both the figurative expression of movement in water, but also the abstract illustration of time, place and memory. The work encourages the viewer to stand still and delve into their own sense of time, place and memories, which ebb and flow like water.
