Unaccompanied Trail V is an abstract impression of new blossoms in spring. The red pigment used represents the colour bursting from the winter landscape and is also symbolic of the strength of women, defying hardship and pain to blossom and shine.

The work combines old techniques of woodblock printing with contemporary abstract designs. The artist creates the designs using brushes made from sticks and leaves, carves the designs onto wood and prints onto Korean mulberry paper by hand with a barren.
